DLC / TiNi Coatings

Wanting to improve suspension performance with an added look?

• DLC (black) or TiNi (color) is a PVD coating applied to the chrome steel portions of fork stanchions or shock shaft.
• Pricing listed below is for coating cost ONLY
• Fork stanchions or shock shafts are micro polished before coating.
• This process is only a few microns thick and will not fill any blemishes
• Any suspension being coated will need to be sent in for professional disassemble and re-assembly
• Coatings are not permanent and will wear over a long period of time

Type II and Type III Anodizing

• Anodizing is basically color dye that can be chemically/electrically adhered to Aluminum parts
• Billet machined parts will have a better, glossier more uniform finish
• Cast parts will typically have a dull finish unless polished beforehand but cannot guarantee a uniform finish
• Billet parts that are mirror polished will create a "wet" or "candy" finish
• Professional "mirror" polishing can be added upon request
• All motocross fork tubes are spin polished beforehand

Anodizing

This can be done in a range of colors and can only be done on an aluminum surface, upper fork tubes and shock bodies in most cases. Depending what color is desired will determine pricing. Fork axle lugs and miscellaneous parts
can be thrown in at a minimum fee. Depending on what and size of the part and color will determine pricing.​

Cerakote

Cerakote is an extremely durable & thin ceramic coating. Cerakote is widely used on all types of surfaces. The most common applications for motorcycles include, shock bodys, engine cases, brake calipers and other various components to give your bike a one off look. Cerakoted items will be prepped, media blasted, sprayed and baked in order to apply. If youre wondering what colors can be done, check the Cerakote website and we can special order any color desired.

Kashima

This can be done on aluminum fork tubes or shock bodies. Kashima is a type of anodizing with lubricants impregnated in the coating, creating a self lubricating surface and optimizing suspension movement.

TiNi (Titanium Nitride)

This coating can be done in a variety of colors or even multiple colors on a single surface. Seen on most factory race bikes, TiNi creates a hard smooth surface, cutting down stiction and temperature just like DLC.

Note: typically TiNi will not last over the years as DLC will, especially on shock shafts.

DLC (Diamond Like Coating)

DLC creates an extremely hard and durable surface, lowering operating temperatures and creating an ultra slick surface. This coating is normally seen in Black color and applied to steel sanctions of the lower fork tubes or shock shafts.
